For the benefit of anyone who hasn’t heard, WOW – Wild over Waterways – is an initiative of British Waterways to get our children to appreciate this wonderful asset at an early age. It is hoped that this will enrich their lives now and into the future by them using the canals and all the benefits and enjoyment they can create. They may even persuade their folks to also take a more active interest in the canals.
Recently BW visited my Grandaughter’s school and gave an inspiring talk on the beauty and joy that can be had in visiting the canals and what super things there are to see and do – wildlife, walking, cycling, fishing and boating holidays.
Inspired by the talk my Grandauhter produce the leaflet shown here. She has just turned 8 and obviously was greatly impressed to produce such an enticing leaflet.
Well done Ellie! I’m sure it will inspire many to take a look at the great asset we have inherited thanks to the hard work of our ancestors.
