Grant Shapps, Housing Minister, is saying that  new moorings could be eligible for the New Homes Bonus, which means the government would match council tax from new-build homes. I assume this means that if a Council provides moorings off and adjacent to a canal, then the Council would receive Government funds equal to the Council Tax. Among other benefits this will help people liveand work in areas where they can’t afford the housing.
