Avon Navigation - Strensham to BidfordI visited this stretch of the navigation in June 2010, a glorious month for weather as you can see from the photo collage on the left. This stretch of the river is very beautiful in its rural setting, and wildlife is abundant. Many of the features – bridges, weirs, etc – are centuries old and their surroundings have long since recovered from the scarring of construction. As a walking photographer I found it difficult to penetrate the stretches between the towns, as unlike man made canals, the river has no towpaths largely. Nevertheless, what you can get to is well worth a visit, and the lonely boater will welcome your visit.

See the main sights I managed to get to in the SLIDESHOW.
