This bi-annual event was blessed with beautiful weather when I visited on Sunday 22 September. Organised by the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust and the Lichfield Cruising Club it was sited at the Huddlesford Junction of the Coventry Canal and the under restoration Lichfield Canal.
It was a surprisingly grand event with lots of boats vintage and market, vintage cars, various land-based stalls and bands playing all day. The weather brought out the crowds and everyone seemed to be in high spirits and enjoying themselves including people’s pet dogs!
The organisers told me later that it had been an outstanding social and financial success for the organisers and especially the Trust which is a charity, of course.
The the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust welcome interest and organise walks of the restoration areas.
Here is a slideshow of photos I took during my visit.
