Kennet & Avon,Newbury

Somebody up there loves me! Well it seems that way at the moment…

I booked 4 nights in a hotel in Newbury on 20 February. The purpose was to provide a base for a photoshoot of the Kennet & Avon Canal (from Honeystreet to Reading) and the upper Thames (from Windsor to Oxford).

On my first day, Thursday 15 May, the skies cleared the sun shone and the temperature rose to the mid 20’s. And so it remained until my trip was completed on Monday 19 May. Today, Tuesday 20 May, back home in Birmingham, it rained and the temperature plummeted to 15.

So, I was awarded super weather to bring out the beauty of the waterways for some photos – and boaters and other visitors were in high spirits.

Along my route I met several people and a group of canoeing gentlemen who were nearing the end of a mammoth row along the K&A – well done them, I say!

Below are my photos of the people I met.

(How to Get the Most Out Of the Photos.)
