OD4A8728At long last Sherborne Wharf proprietors are about to reopen the famous Fiddle & Bone pub at Sheepcote Street bridge alongside the BCN canal in central Birmingham.

This is what boaters and local residents have eagerly awaited for 12 years for after the pub was closed due to local resident opposition.

There’s been no such opposition recently – locals seem very eager to see the opening as far as I can determine, as one of them.

For visiting boaters to the Brindleyplace area this will be a godsend!….

♦ there will be a bar, bistro/restaurant together with a boat chandlery.
♦ diesel oil will be administered to boats via a swing pipe over the towpath.
♦ there will be a pumpout pillar on the towpath and drinking water pillar point.

I will report soon on the opening of this very important addition to Birmingham’s hospitality, when the splendid canalside courtyard and boating facilities will have been completed.
