It was a glorious weekend weather wise for the Coombeswood Canal Trust’s annual Open Weekend held at Hawne Basin….

This annual event was blessed with fine weather even if the Autumnal chill had set in. Centred around the Bonded Warehouse at the end of the Stourbridge Town Arm canal it attracted over 60 narrow boats of all types including vintage working boats……

This was held on the 10th day of the 10th month of the 10th year in the 21st century – good memorable date, what!. I spent 3 hours at the open day and enjoyed a very relaxing and enlightening visit…..

I visited the event on Saturday 2 October. Well! What a superb day of weather it turned about to be, apart from a dull period in the afternoon, which is when I took my photos! Typical of British weather, what!….

This is held on the BCN Old Line at Tipton West Midlands, very near to the Black Country Museum. It shows how such parochial festivals are growing in popularity….
